I have just had an oil combi boiler installed and it lives in a cupboard in my study. Is it normal for there to be a constant smell of oil? I don't notice it when I've been in the room for a while but I can smell it when I first go in.

Not usually, but since it's only recently been installed, I would say it's just a bit of spillage burning off.

When it's commissioned, the oil is bled through into the system via a bleed point. There;s usually a dribble laying around that takes a little time to burn off.
