Are there any benefits (apart from saving on energy bills...) to having a cold shower everyday?

It's suppose to waken you up - doesn't work with me. It is also said to do something with the cuticles in your hair to make it shiny - not sure if that works.

I had a long period at school where the masters told us we were soft because we didnt have cold showers in the morning and by implication they had

fifty y later I can see how ridiculous it all was and refrain a lot of the time telling young people what I did when I was their age
