…. recounted in a letter published in last night’s London Evening Standard.

A passenger left a bag containing Christmas gifts, wrapped and addressed ready for posting, on a train. He had no joy at the lost property office, but days later he received calls from the intended recipients thanking him for the gifts. The anonymous finder had not only posted the presents, but had paid the postage too.

Isn’t that nice?

what a lovely thing to happen especially as the postage isn't cheap x
That's lovely. A shame that the generous person can't be thanked personally.
Very nice. Quite heart warming.
Very nice.
What a lovely person to do that. It shows that there is some good in the world. And what a nice surprise for the person who left the goods on the train I bet he would have liked to have thanked the good samaritan as well.
Wow !
How lovely!
Lovely, a proper Father Christmas
Gives you a warm glow just thinking about it, lovely.

What a great result.
A real Xmas star :-)
That's amazing! Would be great to find out just who that person was that forwarded them pressies on. Best news I,ve heard all day.
What a lovely story, how kind that person was.
Santa must have found them.
so very kind and generous.
That is wonderful.

Now for a different story.

Many years ago I agreed to be Santa for the company I was working with, xmas luncheon for all the offspring of employees.

Took a van home with about 150 kiddies presents in it. The van was stolen the night before the xmas party.

I was a pretty depressed Santa that year.
Re the OP; nice. A good deed is it's own reward.

Re 1ozzy's experience. Sorry to hear. What happened, did folk have a swift collection and buy more or did the kids miss out ?
That is good to hear :-). I've bought stamps and posted (presumably) Christmas cards that were left addressed in a post office before... but not as expensive as parcels.
ozz the only thing I can think to say is that there are also some very hurtful and dishonest people in this world. thank god for the good ones.
What a lovely thing to do. It just goes to show, there are some lovely people in the world.
