This might be a really stupid question but I honestly have no idea. When you download an App onto your mibile, do you have to have both Wi-Fi and Data switched on for the App to work?

Will it work with just Data switched on?

Tilly it may be you are trying to connect to someone else's wifi. When I go to connect, I can see 5 or 6 different wifi hubs plus wifi with fon. You need to choose the right one.
Hmm... Could be a number of things. Without the phone make and model it may be hard to get the correct solution but here goes. Firstly is your mobile set to "Encrypt" Phone Password. If so it will probably require a factory reset. Leave that option for now as you will lose all data if you have not backed it up.
So Firstly, try a reset of the Wifi Hub. You will need a pin or needle and you need to press for about 20 seconds the little recessed button that says "Reset" on the back of the hub. Before you press that switch off mobile phone Wifi. When the hub has reset start up the phone Wifi Scanner and try again.
If that fails. Try this. On your phone , Go to Settings ...Wifi and click on your network. Click to forget it. Rescan and click on your network. Enter your information as you normally would, but click advanced before confirming and go down to IP Address. Change from DHCP to Static. Go to IP Address and change it to something like 192.168.1.77 for example. Just confirm and hopefully its rectified.
When you get chance Tills try those two things. Good Luck.
BT Hubs have a reset button on the top. No need for pins.

I'll try all that later. Thanks again.
They do "different" things Tills. The button is a "power Cycling reset whilst the little secret pin push button is a factory reset which takes the hub back to when you first got it. As long as you have not made any changes to the hub like passwords or whatever yoU will be OK.
The button on the top is merely the controlled shutdown and switching back on of your hub.
Have you got a spare teenager lying around who could set it all up for you?

I'm determined to do it myself, Hoppy. I have always been stubborn. :-)
