I have a JVC LED smart hd tv LT-43C770. Sometimes when I am watching tv there appears in the top left corner a small symbol, sometimes its red and sometimes its green. The best way I describe what it looks like is a sugar dummy! Despite scouring the instruction manual there is no mention or image shown like the one I have described. Can anyone tell me what it is and what it means please. Thanks.

Could it be a satellite dish symbol? Red when you’re not connected / green when you are.
When it changes colour do the adverts come on soon after ?
I've got a so-called "Smart" TV. Nothing could be further from the truth, but that's another issue.

I get a similar icon topp left of my screen from time to time. It's like a globe with an arrow wrapped round it. Similarly there is no mention of it in my user manual. Somebody told me it's something to do with the TV's interaction with the internet. Even if that's true I don't know why I would want to know what it was doing. Whoever designed the mechanism that puts it there was wasting their time.
