I can't believe we were only given tomorrow as our completion date.... this Tuesday just gone. We thought they (the Solicitors and our buyer) would never get their act together. We kept pushing for this Friday, but we just couldn't get them to commit. Our buyers Solicitor wouldn't even respond to messages last week and we resigned ourselves to the fact that it wasn't going to happen. Suddenly they sprung it on us on Tuesday and we said, "No way."

There were tears and tantrums from our buyer who said we'd have to pay her extra storage costs for December and January and my husband just laughed at her. She threatened to pull out so Lord MG told her that if that was what she wanted, that's what she'll have to do, but it was she who held things up so long holding onto her money for a few extra pennies in interest and she apparently didn't transfer any funds until Tuesday, as my husband pointed out to her. After everyone calmed down we made a few calls and managed to find a removal firm who weren't booked for tomorrow. It has been utter chaos since but I think we're getting there.

Tomorrow we move into a house with plaster falling off the walls, a kitchen that looks like it's never been cleaned and a bathroom that frankly ... well I won't even go there ...

Someone remind me ... what was I thinking???

I think when we look back in a few years, Kval, we'll probably say the same but right now that's such a long way off. We kinda need to do this now as neither of us is any younger and we want to be established and sorted by the time the stinker goes to school. He starts Nursery after Christmas :-)
