Does anyone have a clue about cooker hoods? My old Whirlpool akr 610 has packed in and needs replaced. However its been discontinued. My main problem is the kitchen was artexed round the cooker hood and the hole in wall is specific to the whirlpool.

I've seen a Belling ch603 cooker hood with the same dimensions as the whirlpool, 15cm high, 60cm wide and 50.5cm deep.

Will it do? Thanks for any help on this one.

I don't see why not.

Taking out the old one will invariably cause some damage to the wall anyway, even if you found the exact same replacement so be prepared to do some work to the wall surrounding the unit. The more care you take the less damage caused and thus easier swap over.

Remember though that electricity is dangerous so if you are unsure about the wiring, get a qualified electrician to install it for you.
