For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.No - if it is Royal Mail recorded delivery the sender's address is not logged anywhere. The Recorded Delivery stationery has a return address portion to stick on the envelope but AFAIK it's not mandatory to use it.
The most you could hope to find out is the Post Office where it was posted. If it has a printed label rather than ordinary stamps there is a 6 (or is it 7?) digit code that is unique to one Post Office. Whether the PO would tell you which office it is is another matter. If it's stamps and a postmark all you can tell is the town, sometimes only the county, where it was first sorted.
