Pebble Effect Electric Fire

built in a hearth surround - bought this second hand but cannot for the life of me find out how to switch it on! I have plugged it in and nothing happens, so presuming there has to be a switch somewhere to make the light/heat come on but I cannot find it! Any ideas?
