Racism - A Two Way Street.
163 Answers
Having been labelled on here as a racist, I would deny that claim most fervently for a variety of reasons, although I can easily see how somebody may come to that conclusion.
Racism, in whatever form it takes, needs to be called out, as it is am evil that denies our fellow man the very dignity that we ourselves demand and expect.
Most incidents of racism are directed by whites towards non whites, and therefore gain the headlines and the popular appreciation of the whole subject.
But I declare that racism is a two way street, and that racism in many forms is directed not only towards individual white people or groups of white people, but towards the very institutions and traditions that are part of our accepted way of life, and that such reverse racism, is equally dangerous and also needs to be confronted vigorously whenever it appears under whatever current guise it has adapted.
Do you agree with this, or have any constructive comment to offer?

My old employer offered a fast track to management scheme for Asian women as they were under represented. I knew this meant there was no point in applying for promotion for the rest of my time there as I knew where the jobs would be going. I was angry as it affected my final pension and I saw workers with less experience and fewer qualifications shoot up the ladder. when one failed in a post after about three months I asked if it would be open to all when readvertised. I was told it wasn't going to be it was created to support the scheme.
I understand the why.... I found it difficult to deal with in reality.

John //Racism and sexism are both 2 way streets. It seems to be OK for non whites to have their own events but not for whites ie black lives matter, don't ALL lives matter?
It's OK to have ladies nights in gyms but not OK to have a men only night.
Why is it OK for one side and not the other?//
If you are at all aware of history and tradition, the people being encouraged, are those that have usually been left out or put off, due to being more vulnerable. We still have some way to go.
Theland, unless the scales tip the opposite way (which they haven't yet), surely we are all aiming for equality? We haven't even got that far- so I'm not sure why you are quite so defensive? Being white, and male, which prejudices have you personally found that have hindered you? You just are coming across as totally unaware of how other people are treated.
