this may sound a bit random, but does anyone know where i can get hold of about 5kg of dry ice at a time, preferably free, if not cheaply.

The best way to get hold of small quantities of dry ice would probably be to look under 'Theatrical Supplies' in Yellow Pages and phone some of the firms who specialise in stage lighting and effects.

If you look under 'ice' in your yellow pages, you should have vendors advertising dry ice too. They are usually willing to supply domestic amounts too.


I got some for a party a while back and it wasn't expensive, although I can't remember the exact amount, sorry.

You can buy ice cubes. Try Iceland or maybe an off-licence. I don't know what type of ice they sell though.

cheers guys, I didn't think about the yellow pages, and are you sure about this licence, i only need some for a dry ice machine for some friends over Christmas, anyway, I'll look into the yellow pages, thanks =D
