Why Do People Over 5 Ride Their Bikes On The Pavement?

Err indoors got a load of trap from 3 teenage *** riding on the pavement whilst she was walking the dogs. "Get out of the effing way etc" - wish I was there I'd kicked the rissoles clean off their bikes. Makes my blood boil.

I think "trader" must be a Tora-ism, as I don't recognise it as proper rhyming slang.

Like someone else said, I wouldn't let my kid ride his bike on the road until he was a teen at least, unless I was also riding with him. A kid on a bike on the pavement might be an inconvenience to you, but rather that than him becoming another road traffic accident statistic.

Of course, my lad wouldn't be so mouthy as to swear at Mrs Tora. Offer her condolences perhaps, but not mouth off ;-)

you don't, and going on the plonkers who ride bikes on pavements, and over red lights, many are not kids. The worse incident was seeing a E Scooter rider, going down the middle of Oxford Street, just recently, where he was lucky not to have been killed.

Oiks will always be oiks, on pavements or in cars, but I'm with Mozz on this: In a former life I was the cyclist's representative on the Glos. Road Safety Committee, so I know a little of what I speak, & even the police said they preferred to see, particularly youngsters, riding on the pavements rather than the road.

As you may or may not know, in other countries there is often a differently coloured strip, usually red, incorporated into the paving.

well going on the time i helped the police locally when they were out in force catching rogue cyclists, most cyclists were riding over red lights, and were caught and told to either pay a fine then and there or be subject to a course on road safety. I reported the matter to the police of bad cycling practices and they asked me to assist which i did
