hi peeps, here's a thought i have a spare 12v car battery in the shed if I get a 12v car inverter connect it to the car battery then connect my battery charger to inverter and then to the battery, will that keep the charge going to the battery or will the charger use more power than its supplying to the battery, tia for any answers, also dont know what category to put this in so wont be offended if its moved
Of course not. That would be a perpetual motion machine. The energy losses in the generator due to friction alone would mean that the battery became depleted.
Sorry, I misread your question. The efficiency of a 12 to 24v inverter is around 80%. To run forever, every part of the circuit would need an efficiency of 100%
