my plum tree has lots of plums but the prob is i opened up about 20 a maggot in each one how do they get there

Eggs Probably laid in the fruit by the plum moth at an earlier stage of its life cycle.
You can buy moth traps that look like little green tents to hang in the trees.

They eat their way in, much as you do.

you really need to be putting up a trap about May sometime. Having said that, in my experience they are by no means totally successful.

We've had the same problem with our apple tree this summer .

Loads of fruits - however a significant %tage have / had squatters in them
