Adjusting Volume

Just had a lovely Sky engineer to sort out my sky which kept losing connection. He added another route; replaced a mini box and a controller for the main box. Everything seems honky dory now - apart from the fact that I can't adjust the volume or mute it on the main box with the new controller. Is this likely to be a Sky problem? I didn't test it before he left as I as I didn't even consider it.
