Actually my son and I got on well with it. He drove to college15 miles away and I carried on to work for the next 15 miles. The first drives with him through the city went well. I remember one day falling asleep on a long drive and being woken up by him. 'Mum you're meant to be teaching me to drive' His dad would have ended up with blue air in the car. The only thing the professional did was get him to drive faster!
Dad let me drive his huge estate from Coltishall to Buxton - those roads are not great at the best of times - now imagine a learner driver in a huge beast of a car - he used to like to say that I drove him to drink!
However, he also said I was the best driver out of all his children so that was a huge compliment.
