When i go shopping i see most vegetable and fruit tins with ring pull opening and some still not having them. a lot of meat tins you still need a can opener. Why do not all manufacturers now use ring pull opening?, it is easier.

Had "fun" with a pull ring can of sardines in olive oil tonight. The ring pulled right off immediately, two can openers failed to do more then make a small piercing, ended up attacking it with a screwdriver. Clearly such things are the work of the devil, just existing to put our stress levels through the roof. Shouldn't be allowed.

Easier for most folk but you still need manual dexterity and hand strength. An electric can opener is easier for everyone.
Probably costs more, or some canning factories are not equipped for it?
You can (no pun intended) still open a ring pul tin with an electric tin opener. Mrs YMB does it all the time.
I know you can :) Difficult to use ring pulls with long nails, I imagine (I imagine it's difficult to do a lot of essential things with long nails).

I get annoyed by that thick resealable plastic packaging. I thought we were supposed to cutting back on single use plastics and the damned things never reseal properly. Often seen on bags of frozen peas and large packs of cheddar. 30 years or more ago I bought some Anchor butter with a free sturdy 'Tupperware' type box. It is still in constant use, it has the Anchor logo on the lid.
Yes that annoys me too.

I have my own reusable and resealable bags for things like tikka etc and a load of freezer pegs for things already in bags.
I have a load of tubs and ziplock bags.
Yes, reuse takeaway tubs, got loads of them over the years.
I can't open ring pulls. I've got a small plastic hook type gadget which is very useful pound shops or hardware stores sell them.
.
There are still some canning factories that are very old. When they are upgraded no doubt they will have ring pull.
I find many ring pulls too stiff or hard to pull, so I use my electric can opener for many of them anyway. I’m not disabled in any way, or have arthritis in my hands, it’s just some cans ring pull cans don’t seem user friendly.
I know we have gone of topic but we reuse Cart D Or ice cream tubs for food storage, plus its fun emptying them, well it was until they changed to papery tubs
Big disappointment to those wanting ice cream and finding frozen sprouts, fourteen :D
vagus, get one of these: Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation
For frozen food in bags I cut a half inch strip off the top to open them then use the strip to tie the bag shut. Simples!
Looks like a handy gadget, TTT, might get one, thanks.
I like using the electric opener for corned beef tins, the way it turns the corners. I know, I know, it’s the small things in life :)
You used to get those tins of meat with a little key to start opened it. You nearly cut your finger off every time you tried to open the tinned can
^^^ All the cans of luncheon meat, bacon grill and corned beef that I buy (irrespective of their brands) still have them, Fiveleaves.

^^^ Opening a can of Princes Mackerel Sizzle is definitely not a task to be undertaken when wearing a nice, new white shirt either, O_G , as I've found out to my cost ;-)
