Apparently 4.5 million first time voters have yet to register. Most of them will not vote Tory so a worry for The Knights of the Lib Non dems and Labour.
The number is not in the link butit was mentioned on the 6 oclock news on the BBC.
Just like last time when 53% didn't vote.
It is well known that young people don't bother, but those that do, vote Labour. For the past 5 years, Conservative policies have been anti-young people.
Labour are not going to lose the election because of low turn out of first time voters. If that is what you are pinning your hopes on, you are going to be sadly disappointed.

tories are the most popular among over 70s but still only about 40-50% say they will vote tory... reform is pinching a lot of their votes there.
it isn't true anymore that people become tory as they age. the constituency of diehard tories are mostly those who did well out of conservative policies in the 80s.
