Does it take to check an answer to a question just recently posted? I have not got the time to plough through 5000 questions on the site, however it is a great site...

You could subscribe to the question - you then get emailed when an answer appears. Or you could click on 'my profile' (top left) and then on 'My Questions', which gives you a list of them and the number of answers given.

if you have posted the question , then you will get an email when anyone answers if you have just viewed the question, choose "recently viewed" if you posted an answer, choose "questions I gave answers to"

If it is a recenlty posted question (by someone else), just go to the "most recent" tab on that subject and it should be in the top 20

You could use the site search facility with the subject of your question.
It's a good idea to use this before asking - you may find it's already been answered.
