super glue jeans!

i spilt super glue on the front leg of my favourite jeans! are there any ways of getting it out?? HELP!

Superglue (along with most types of adhesive) does not like water. Soak the effected area in a bowl of cold water for a day or two � if you are lucky this may do the trick. If not you can buy super glue removal fluid (from the same place as you bought the glue). Beware though. My experience of this stuff is that whilst it may get the glue out, it leaves a stain.

best stuff is nail varnish remover. Melts it like theres no tomorrow. Try a test patch first, just incase it discolours the denim

Normal glue contains water and as it drys out it forms a solid bond, 'Super glue' needs water to react and form a bond (thats why it never sticks to the inside of the tube). it reacts with the moisture in the air. To dry super glue quick, breath on it.

If you ever spill super glue on your skin the worst thing you can do is run it under the tap. nail varnish remover is very good on normal skin, but if you ever get it in open wounds, eyes mouth or anywhere else stupid.... get to a hospital quick.

Bob-a-job...Disagree strongly with your advice on not using water to remove superglue from skin.

Yes, water acts as the catalyst to cure superglue and form the bond, but excess water causes it to break down. Manufacturers advice is to use hot water, as an alternative to acetone.

Isn't it red wine that counteracts glue? Or am I thinking of bubblegum? Alternatively, if you pour Tippex down the other leg on your jeans then the superglue stain won't stand out as much.
