Hi, does anyone know if my ex-partner works full time and I have just received benefits cause he beat me up, we are going to court. Does he have to give me maintanance don't particulary want to go through CSA waste of time they are. We have two children together aged 6 and 3.

Yes he has to support the children.


If he won't agree voluntarily I'm not sure how you could force him other than the CSA..

If you are on benefits, you wont get the money he pays anyway.
Mycats is right.

The general rule is that the CSA will take 15% of his wages for each child (capped at 35% i think).

Unless he is a very high earner you probably won't recieve much unless you're no longer claiming benefits.
