I keep getting "ERR 99" when I go to take a photograph.
The manual says"Remove Battery " I still get the same problem after doing this. Can anyone help?

Do you only get the ERR 99 when taking a picture, how about using the menus or displaying a picture. You could try taking out the main and backup battery and leaving them out for a couple of hours to let the capcitors inside the camera discharge and then replace them and see if that makes a difference.

I found this when I googled Canon 300d + err 99 - this seems to be a common problem - try this suggestion and then if that doesn't work have a look at some of the others.
I had this when using a non compatible lens with my 300d ... it was a sigma 170-500 ... contacted sigam and they said I could get it re chipped ... i did, and it now works fine ...
