How many people have had questions banned?

I've had some and usually i can't figure out why?

I had one that just asked if i could go to bed banned once.

Although, i'd ban that one if i wasn't drunk.

What's the most bizzare tread you've had banned out from under you?

And what question did you find hard to believe wasn't banned? This one perhaps..lmao

I`ve had 18 questions and 54 answers banned

iv'e had a few banned ,it's usually just the people who can't take a ribbing or a joke,or maybe the lighter side of life.

nothing to worry about,quite a normal practice for the no hopers lol

I have had 45 questions and 48 answers banned, but I have asked 250 questions and given 2812 answers, but that is only since Feb 06 after i became dot.hawkes.

I hadn't been on here for a couple of weeks (been naughty and sent to the dungeon). When I returned I posted 2 Q's on B&S, one apologised to person I was rude to, the other asking the whereabouts of another ABer (nothing new in that). Both Q's were banned, shortly after the first one received replies???


There was one Q that just about amazed me that it didn't get wiped off, and is still there I guess. I'm very open minded, but very surprised that it wasn't banned.

Might look in tomorrow, (if I have a spare minute - have a very busy day ahead) as I will be interested at any replies!

Correction: it is tomorrow lol !!

I had a very harmless tongue in cheek answer banned at the time of the same sex union thing earlier in the year.....somebody asked what happens in the event of a 'divorce' and I said they would get a Decree Nancy.

Now if anybody was offended by this comment, they are very very very very sad people.

Either that or ABed was extremely overzealous in their concern about upsetting a small section of society by not pulling the answer.

Yep, it just amazies you doesn't it flip-flop, what gets pulled and what stays. As for reporting funny, non-offensive answers, what kind of people are they? As you say, they must be really sad - if so - what the hell are they doing on a site such as AB? If you don't like people then go on Google or Wikipedia...

In retrospect, my account looks high, but you have to remember that I think any questions that are zapped when your ID is temporarily suspended are included, for instance, on the 3 occasions my id has been targeted by baddies, all the posts for that day in my id are automatically pulled, and often they are not returned, and as my rate for posting answers on a weekend is quite high, that means alot of answers disappear and will have been included int he above figure. (at least i think that sounds feasible)

Hi all, this is interesting. I am relatively new to this site, so hello to everyone! Out of interest how do you get removed? I think I may have done this to 'John Virgo' after he put a nasty comment to a question by someone who had their cat go missing and was obviously extremely upset. I reported the answer as being not suitable for the thread and then I saw it had been removed. Would it have taken just my report or would it had to have been reported by others? By the way I am not one of those who cannot take a joke! John Virgo had put a suggestion that the owners cat may have ended up in a chinese takeaway which I thought was in extremely poor 'taste' (!!).

Hi sue and Dee,

It takes 3 report(er)s to pull a thread or Q. It has to be 3 separate usernames (1 person cannot submit 3 times). An e-mail sent to the AB ED to remove a Q or A can have an effect if reporting alone doesn't ban it. Sometimes a post gets removed for no ryme or reason - at least not an obvious one! If there is a subliminal thread i.e. racial or abusive - then it can be pulled or censored by AB techs. One case in hand, an ABer mispelt a word (innocently), and within the long word was what could have been a nasty racist jibe (!!), so it was removed!

There are, unfortunately, some pathetic creatures out there that take it upon themselves to report unoffensive material, just for the sheer hell of it, possibly through envy of the ABer posting, because of that person's popularity, or even because said ABer replied with a witty retort that the receiver didn't (being humourless) appreciate! They are to be pittied though, especially if they have had a humour bypass operation.
