DVD Recorders

I have a Nokia Free view box linked to a pro-line ( Comet ) dvd recorder. Everything is wired in correctly & it records channels 1-4 ok on the non digital signal. When attempting to record the digital signal the dvd recorder preview pane displays the picture of the digital channel but will not record it. The dvd switches it's self off & the message " Protected input source" comes up. I never had this problem with a VCR which recorded digital channels from the same Nokia box.
Any ideas?
