Acknowledging answers
5 Answers
Could people asking questions please answer if they find something worked? I see questions and I see answers and look at the answers and think "hmmmm, might try that" but I am reluctant to do so unless a poster reports back "thanks" or "yeuk" - I mean, if members are good enough to help out and suggest then they should receive some feedback as a lot of people read this topic and learn from others posting and replying. If I had a question and got answers and tried the answers I would at least have the curtesy to respond on my original thread so anyone else searching the same topic would find a question, an answer and a reply.

I have just cooked the salmon in the way you suggested and unfortunately I got called out halfway through it...I think it would have been ok otherwise, but I had to turn it off (as I don't like leaving the oven on when I'm out of the house) and hence when I returned it was sitting in gooey white fat, which put me off the whole thing. I was wondering if there is a way to avoid that white fatty deposit with salmon, as it always seems to happen. (The salmon wasn't dry, btw.) We did eat it but because of the circumstances I'd only give it 7/10 - better luck next time! I agree with you that people should acknowledge postings more often and to be honest, I don't know why the Ed bothers with the star system anymore, as hardly anyone seems to abide by it!
Ida - I agree wholeheartedly. When someone takes their valuable time to answer one of your questions, it is only right that you should acknowledge it in some manner. Failure to do so, in my humble opinion, is "bad manners" - I wonder if they are the same diners who don't thank a waiter/waitress when they bring something to their table:)
