could anyone help me fix the problem that every time i open microsoft word an old file is ther as the start up page and every time i hit the "new blank document" the old file still comes up..its driving me mad!! i even deleted that file but that hasnt changed it!! thanks in advance

Ok what you have done here is over written your normal.dot file. do a search for it and open it delete the information save it and re-launch word.

i havent a clue where to find the dot file..sorry could you help me out...

Open word and in the affected document delete everything you dont want.

Then go to "file/page setup".

and in the bottom left corner choose "default".
