I have got Microsoft Word basic 2010. Can I split the screen and have two Microsoft word documents up at the same time?
If so, how do I do this?
(Not sure how to open up two word documents anyhow)
Thank you

Try opening both documents, then right click on the Task Bar and select 'Show windows side by side'

Don't seem to have this option on my task bar, but thank you for trying
If you open 2 documents do they not open in separate windows? I can't remember making any setting changes to alter Word's basic behaviour. and so all I have to do is resize and position each window.
what slackalice was saying is: Go to word, looking at your screen click on the windows button in your top left hand corner of your screen, and open up the first document. Then click on the windows button top left hand corner again, and open up the second document.

Then take your mouse pointer right down to the bottom of your screen (the bottom blue area) and right click. It should give you option to show the windows side by side.
(i'd completely forgotten that option exists within Word)
sorry , i didn't read the previous replies properly - within Word itself click on the View tab and you'll find that there is a Window section of the ribbon where you can arrange and synchronise scrolling of different windows
What version of windows are you using?

Try opening one and pressing "WINDOWS+LEFT ARROW"

This should "snap" it to the left side.

Open the other and use "WINDOWS+RIGHT ARROW" to snap the other to the right.

(This only works on Windows 7 & 8)

As Bibble says, it shouldn't be opening in the same "frame" anyway.

If using 7 or 8, find the program, right click and pin to taskbar. Once there, middle-click with the scroll wheel to open a new version.
Or maybe I've misunderstood!
