Got solar lights for the garden as a present at Christmas, so far they have not lit up at night due no doubt to too little sunshine. What is the minimum sunshine they need to work after all its during the Winter months when they need to shine? Any experience anyone?

If you mean the ones that have two little yellow LED's in them, we've got some. They are still out in the garden but only light up dimly for about 1 hr in Winter. During the Summer they stayed on from dusk (say 8.30 - 9.00) until 5.00 am no problem. You will just have to wait for the sunshine!

If they don't light up at all, lift one up and look underneath. Ours have a little on/off switch.

So do ours; hopefully you read the instructions as to where they are. If not you have to leave them off for about 12 hours in proper sunshine to let the batteries charge up first time.

Better yet, charge them up indoors under a bright light...?
