If you haven't bought a TV for a few years you might be surprised how cheap they are now.
Just a quick check on Tesco brings up a 21" for less than �100. A bit of shopping around might bring up a known brand at a good price, perhaps on pricerunner.com

Alternatively you could try putting a card in the local newsagents asking for a cheap TV. Lots of people upgrade and end up with an unwanted decent TV
