Hmmm, just check that you are covered first. I dropped my mobile phone at the weekend and unfortunately it dived straight into a drink that was on the floor by the settee.
Despite having accidental damage on my home insurance, apparently damage caused by liquids is not covered!
oh blimey bummer! ill have to sift through it and read the book, i cant phone and ask!lol. u could always buy a new phone, and that one might have a different accident?!
I agree with stoke..... water and tv usually means fire. My friend burnt the house down when he was young because he was having a snowball fight inside the house and water dripped down the back of the tv. Silly but true!!!
is it an old tv? have you got new for old policy, you might have to keep the tv until the insures inspect it, have you got another one to watch in the meantime, most places now will send you a replacement item from an insurance calim so you would have to wait for that as well
yeah it is old, its on its last legs, i wouldnt get anything on on ebay for it, and we just havent got the money for a new one. weve got a piddly little one in the bedroom to watch in the mean time. Isnt it funny how we cant live without t.v's now. i think i might have a n accident and drop it!
If you haven't bought a TV for a few years you might be surprised how cheap they are now.
Just a quick check on Tesco brings up a 21" for less than 100. A bit of shopping around might bring up a known brand at a good price, perhaps on pricerunner.com
if you pay your insurance premium by instalments, the insurance company will deduct the remaining years balance from any settlement. I was quite gutted to receive 28 only.
