does anyone know how i can get a huge clump of bright white chewing gum out of a pair of black trousers??

Try putting the trousers in the freezer, and then it should all harden up and be removed easily.

Use an ice spray available from most chemists for sports injuires. This will freeze the gum so it can be chipped off. Use a spray with no added extra ingredients to prevent further staining.

Carefully cut around the gum then put in the freezer. You should be able to peel off the remainder of the fabric withought losing too much of the gum. Once defrosted the gum should be ready to enjoy again.
