The light in my dining room that is one of those fancy ones with loads of tiny bulbs has stopped working. The bulbs haven't blown and neither has a fuse, all other lights in the house are fine. does anyone know what this could be and if it will be expensive to fix?
my partner is an electrician and deals with alot of fittings that have transformers. Transformers don't last long, so if this fitting has one that's probably whats wrong like Zacmaster says. They blow suddenly and just affect that fitting.
it is from b&q if that helps, mybe it is the transformer then. Do you know how much it will cost to be replaced and does it have to be done by an electrician?
Anyone with half a brain can change the transformer in the light fitting but you might have trouble getting the right physical sized one as most of them are made in foreign countries and hard to get hold of, also take into account the wattage size of the knackered tranny as this will affect the low voltage to the lamps....
