i went to nz this last year my ear drums perforated it was awful.make your daughter hold nose and keep swallowing when taking off and landing.this will stop the eustachion tube collasping and make her do it when off the plane if still poping.i saw dr in sydney nothing could be done but keep inflating the tubes.remember hold your nose when you swallow.have nice time
Travel Bands from Boots may stop your daughter's travel sickness, they do adult and children's sizes, my daughter used to suffer awful travel sickness, then a friend told me about these wrist bands, I believe they apply a little pressure to the pressure points in the wrist, which stops the sickness, I wasn't convinced really, but tried them, and they really worked well, thankfully she had now outgrown her travel sickness.
Hope this helps M

I always suck a sweet on ascending and descending, it really helps with the ears. When we flew Virgin to Florida they even came round with boiled sweets before landing. Another way is chewing gum.
It is too late really when you are landing, I have to start sucking sweets as soon as I can feel the plane descending. I amaze the people I'm flying with as I can always tell when it starts descending by my ears, even before it comes on the little screen on the TV.
