Are motorbike provisionals the same as car provisionals? Can I apply for one at the age of 16?

the law used to allow provisional licenses for bikes at 16 but cars was 17. i am out of touch, but i believe that cars is now 18 but im not sure if the law for bikes has also changed as it all relates to the 2 part license nowadays
You can apply for a provisional license at 16 and can ride a <50cc bike/scooter with only this liscense and the rider training. You can get a car pv at 17, except special circumstances (mobility problems)
The car provisional age is 18 for people born after 01/03/88. This has not gone down well with my brother-in-law who was born on the 3rd!
No, you can have a car provisional license at 17, no matter when you were born. See 2pass.co.uk.
