I was reading a book recently set in Scotland in around 1815. It mentioned that it was against (Scottish) law for a man to marry the sister of his dead or divorced wife. (and likewise for a woman to marry her husband's brother.)
I wondered if
(a) This law was still in force today in the uk.
and (b) If not, when was it revoked?
