Email sent!
I have reported it on your behalf Adam...

<I have been informed by a non ebay member that this item is counterfeit and he wants to report this to ebay. As he has no ebay account I have offered to report it on his behalf.>
Question Author
thanks aprilis, ive sent them an email too, in case anyone is interested, this is what i put:
I believe this listing is a counterfeit, as the particular product in question has not been released yet, and the specifications are totally different to what is described, and the listing is coming from China which is peculiar as the product would be coming from Finland.
If Ebay cares so much about protecting its members against counterfeits, this listing should be removed as should the other listings when you search 'n96'.
I also think there should be a bigger crackdown of all the other counterfeit items, as I imagine its not a good feeling to conned by receiving a fake, and this should be easy to do, as other members have posted guides on how to spot the fakes, Ebay staff could easily control these listings.

Thank you

Nowhere on that listing does it actually state that it's a Nokia. That alone should ring alarm bells and indicate that it's not genuine.

I don't know whether they will remove the listing or not seeing as the seller doesn't claim it to be a Nokia. It's obvious that people will assume it is though, so let's hope that means ebay pull the listing.
Question Author
it should be pulled off, no nokia name means it even more counterfeit

Surely its under rubble now !!
It's amazing the stuff the Chinese are churning out at the moment.
Surely anyone who send 93 off to China and expects a phone in return is a fool? Common sense should tell you that this is a con.
lol at fagidil !!
I have come across a question like this before somewhere and I seem to remember it saying that it is only illegal to sell something if it is described as something it isn't. He hasn't actually said it's a Nokia so perhaps he isn't doing anything wrong. It will be interesting to see what ebay do about it. watch this space
Question Author
it is illegal, as they are claiming it is the N96 which is obviously from Nokia. Since it looks exactly like a nokia phone which is due to be launched later this year, they are counterfeiting by producing a lookalike fake.
can see email, i think they've replyed.....
I see nowhere where they state it is a Nokia. You are merely assuming because it has a name that is the same.

It's probably some obscure piece of tat that won't work anyway (assuming it ever arrived)
