I only just found this question so I hope you havent signed up for training by now.
I qualified as a Home Inspector in the same time as the Government did their u-turn on Home Condition Reports and as yet have not been asked to produce one report. I am getting by doing energy reports but despite reading countless articles about being able to earn 80K am lucky to get 45 for an EPC. I am a qualified estate agent and so have plenty of contacts for work but there are loads of people out there providing the same service. It will be a long time until I recoup the 10000 it cost to train.
In short, dont waste your money on the training.
Also many clients are reluctant to give work to people who have changed careers from say a butcher to an energy assessor because they feel that they do not have enough technical and industry knowledge and I have to admit many of the people I met whilst training were complete muppets that had been seduced by the thought of huge salaries.
Im not usually such a negative kind of person!
