old-fashioned "sugar" mice and pigs? Looking at the last Christmas post, I've got an idea to fill some small stockings for my children, with the sort of basic things which my great grandma used to get - the said candy, an orange, some nuts, a "new" penny - and a tin whistle from Hawkins Bazaar.

Cheers Mints. Do they do mail order, do you know?
Hey there Dris - well, kids take so much for granted these days, don't they? It's not their fault - it's ours for giving in to pressure, and thinking it's right to provide TV's in their bedrooms, and laptops and so on.
My own kids appreciate that money doesn't grow on trees, but never-the-less expect bigger and better each year. Just thought that showing them the stark reality of what folk USED to be content with'd be a novrelty and a learning curve.

Yes - I know I could've googled and probably gone through a whole array of sites Leggy, but it's nice to get some feedback from people - and perhaps go by their recommendations. Thanks for yours as well, btw, and I'll see if there's a website for where monty's suggested as well.
Monts - what was your present, or aren't you telling??!
