hi, whats better to use as a computer monitor, a 720p HDTV or 1080p considering the cost of the latter?

my budget is set around �300

Well for half your budget you could by a monitor with a much better resolution than 1080p - why must it be a TV?

Note there is a Technology section on Answerbank, and under that is a Computer section. There is also an Internet section under Technology.

Questions like these may be better in one of those sections.
