Facebook help please?

Since FB was 'updated' I have got mine in a bit of a mess. My 'friends' are each on 3 or 4 lists, and I'd like to get them just on one list but i dont seem to be able to delete people from all lists except one. This may seem a bit muddled but its driving me round the bend.
