When my mum died,we were asked if we wanted her dressed in anything special . As we didnt, she was dressed in a lovely white robe with lace around her neck. There are some big companies who employ people just to "make-up" the deceased.
The skin shrinks after death, and makes it look as though mens whiskers are still growing. So they give them a shave, too.

I wasn't asked for clothes my OH?
anyone whos died in our family has been dressed in say a suit or particular item of clothing. from experience if someone dies in hospital or a nursing home we usually wash the person and put clean nightclothes on them while waiting on undertaker. other than that im not quite sure.
it is usually done by an enbalmer, sometimes they are employed at a funeral directors, sometimes they are hired in specially.
