I quite often buy things off of ebay so I have a Pay Pal account which takes any money due from a debit
card linked to a bank account that was specially set up for the purpose (not much money in it)
however I now have a few things I would like to sell on ebay but do pay pal transfer the incoming
money into my bank account or does it remain with pay pal and if it does how do I get it out ?

The money gets paid directly to your PayPal account. To transfer it to your bank account, click on the My Account tab, then click withdraw. It can take up to 10 days, but is usually much quicker.

thanks for your answer hc4361, I have never sold anything on ebay so never had to go into the pay pal account
to see how it works..
If you often buy things on ebay then you could leave the amount from the sale in your paypal account. That way, when you buy items in the future paypal will take the payment from that first before it takes it from your bank account.
It works smoothly in my experience. You can click to withdraw from Paypal to your nominated bank account and I find the money is usually available in my bank account within three working days.
