After the recent cold spell their have been a few burst pipes in the area. Our water has been off a few times recently and now has very little pressure. This morning I got into the shower and the water didn't heat up. My husband twisted the head and adjusted the speed the water came out and the heat came on. I was wondering if the pressure of the water coming out effected the heating mechanism.

Water pressure does affect an electric shower. They require a minimum pressure to operate a pressure switch to switch the electric heating element on. Check the user guide if you have it.
