A few months ago I purchased a digital television and have enjoyed watching numerous TV channels
including several freeview channels.
Today being the first day of the digital changeover, I was assured by JVC that I did not need to take
any action.
However, I now find that I have all the main channels - BBC BBC2 ITV etc plus a few freeview channels,
but cannot receive several freeview channels previously enjoyed 24 hours ago.
I have consulted the instruction book and have attempted, without success, to contact customer
services.
Please could anybody advise me what I need to do to reinstate all my now missing freeview channels.
Obviously I can contact a local TV dealer/repairer but I do not want to be sold something that may not
be necessary.
Any assistance or advise would be most appreciated.
Many thanks for the information. I now realise that as I was receiving programmes from the Mendips as well as from Wenvoe in South Wales, all the programmes that are serviced by
the Mendips are the ones that I am still receiving.
However, when pressing the menu button and then the 'set up' option the choices I am faced are:
Language (obviously not)
Ext Setting
HDMI Setting
Attenuator
Can anybody tell this dull Welsh man which one I should now select please?
When you do a full re-scan you may receive English Freeview instead of the Welsh as the strongest signal may come from over the border in England. Full Digital switchover will mean Full Power on the Transmitters as there is no longer any Analogue for power sharing.
The strongest signal will prevail !
That set-up you have found sounds like the set-up for the 'TV input/output options', and not the 'tuning set-up'.
It's 'tuning set-up' (or something similar sounding) that you are looking for.
