is the towel rail heated by electric? There must be an isolation switch outside the bagthroom you can switch off
Does it not have a thermastat on one side?

yeah its electric, ive looked everywhere but nothing :(
You live in the bathroom?

Water or Electric?
If electric, look for cable socket in wall, and remove fuse.
If water, they may be locked in position. If so, wrap towels around the tubes and ask for advice from landlord or maintenance.
It may be wired off socket ring .. ridiculous.
You may need to ask for it to be disconnected at the unit.
my bathroom rad is switched on and off by a switch outside the bathroom, should have red writing? (unless of course it's plumbed into your hot water, in which case you should be able to turn it off at the rad itself). If not, ask your landlord!

hmm i think its water not electric.

there should be inicators to say what temp i want just like the central heating, but these dont give me a single clue.

i think i managed to turn it off last week by turning tem both half way. but monday there were no hot water, so i slighty turned them knobs and stil no hot water til the nx day, but the rail was on. i tried to turn it back to the same position as it was b4 but no success... hmmmm

i live in a big house split into 5 flats, i wonder if some tenant turned it on somewhere? only been here since 1st july
Try turning one of them fully clockwise until it is tight down. May be stiff/hard to turn. Leave and check tomorrow.
