I just took delivery of my new washing machine to find that they couldn't/wouldn't get it out from under the newER laminate flooring. I've never liked it and the delivery men have departed. How do my daughter and I rip out the bit of flooring to free the old washing machine? Thanks.

do you have a crowbar?

No, do I need one? I was thinking a chisel and a hammer.
Well .. I would surface cut a section in front to allow it to roll out first. Then fit new machine and rebond section back in.
I take it the surface above cannot be lifted because of wall tiles?
It must be pretty tight for height .. and/or the laminate thick to stop it coming out.

What with albags?
I replied in your other thread ... missed this one, sorry.
A washing M/C usually has a couple of adjustable feet at the front for levelling purposes. If they are able to be screwed up it may give you enough clearance to enable you to get it out.

It's such a tight fit and has been there for so long that it appears that to cut the flooring is the only answer. My daughter and I are going to attack it tomorrow, so any tips would be gratefully received.

Aw doc, it would be lovely to see your smiling face struggling up my drive in the snow!
... the worktop can't be lifted then?
Question Author
Nope naz, not a hope.

My last resort would be cutting the floor ... I'd cut up the old machine in-situ.

Oh bless you doc. The gap between the top of the machine and the worktop is about 1cm. Don't fancy tackling that. The floor is stained after we had a leak from the cistern so it has to be replaced. I never wanted it in the first place. Give me good old lino anyday.
I don't know how to add a pic to this site.
When I bought my house the tenant left instructions on how to lift the laminate floor to get a washing machine in.......
