I have recently got sky + and having a great deal of trouble.

My son is recording the football and once the recording is set we cannot change the channel to watch another programme.
If you press select it stops the recording.

Also when we press record, we get a programme clash banner one programme highlighted in blue and the other in yellow.

Can someone explain what we are doing wrong???

A proper answer would be nice!
if you press the "r" button, you dont need to pres select, and if youve got a programme clash notice it means you have 2 recording at once and can only watch one of them or watch something youve already recorded, hope that helped
You do have it connected with two feeds from the dish don't you? It has two tuners - each needing a connection to the dish - so you can do two things at once, i.e. record one prog and watch another or record two different progs at the same time. What you can't do is record two progs and watch a 3rd - it has no feed for the 3rd signal!!
you can record 2 programmes at once fg, but you can only watch one of them
Forgot to add, you can record two progs and watch something you already recorded - all at the same time - no extra tuner needed for that as it plays the recording from the hard drive.

Bobbi, I know that but when you press 'r' and the programme records we cannot get out of that mode or even turn to another channel to watch something else.

It reports a clash and yet we have only selected one prog to record!!
The only way to turn channels is to stop recording.
Press the 'Back Up' Button funnygirl so you can 'Escape' from Recording Mode, and then use Select Button when you want to View Channels.
How's your Sky+ now funnygirl, problems resolved ????
