How do I get back Windows 7?

When I opened up the laptop this afternoon a notice appeared that I was not using genuine Windows, then the screen went black instead of that nice blue,

Everything seems to be working. When I went to the Windows website I was told I''d have to pay to get Windows 7, which is what I've been using since buying this laptop over a year ago.

Can anyone tell me what to do? I'm at a complete loss.
