Why, when I got my car renewal insurance recently (which had increased somewhat & after changing to another much cheaper), does my old insurer tell me I could have it even cheaper than expected! Did not tell him my new price but asked why could they not send renewal with this cheaper price?
Would have saved me calling them each year asking if they can reduce.
Obviously customer loyalty has dissappeared these days.
Not really a question but needed a moan!!! How do you feel about this problem?
My quote went down 52% on phoning my insurance company up to tell them where to stick the quote and they added some extras to! The agent on fone stated as Eddie51 said that people don't shop around or query it n so the company make more money. It's also to do with some backward EU law. Made massive savings on insurance, car recovery service, gas n elec over the last couple of years by sitting at a pc n using a fone......in excess of over a £1000.
With my car insurance every year the quote goes up, I telephone and say I am not prepared to pay the increase, they put me through to another department who after a while say yes we can match last years then I say go ahead and Insure, become a yearly thing now. I can only guess that many people don't want any hassle and just renew at the higher price. No customer loyalty in the insurance game at all, so agree with you 100% My moan over too.
The same principle seems to apply to AA Recovery. They wanted a renewal of £216, which on challenging they reduced to £99. This after 21 years. I've now joined Autonational, they only wanted £66 for 15 months.
I had the same sort of thing with my electricity last year - they wanted to bump up the direct debit by £20 a month, I rang and told them I couldn't afford it and they left it the same. I still don't owe them anything extra.
