Vehicle Insurance
This is NOT an ad, just praise for an insurance company. The renewal came through for both mine and the OH's car on the same day, a huge rise in premiums from last year.
Phone around I thought, and after going through all the usual questions that took ages, I got pretty frustrated.
Someone had recommended LV. Phoned them, had to answer the questions over again, but the young man who dealt with my request was ultra helpful and came back with a quote for little over £400 for 2 cars, 20% cheaper than last year.
Well done LV.

Have you reached 50.
My insurance went down when I got to 50.
Another explanation is they could have reviewed the area. I moved half a mile and my car insurance went up by about £60.
When I queried it with several companies they said I had moved into a higher risk area.
Oddly enough the roads are not as busy by the new house so I do not know why.

i go through the same little game every year, my premium goes up i ring and argue and find a cheaper like for like quote..they then come down on the price...Got so fed up this year i changed companies , i get so annoyed when i see premiums going up, i work in the bodyshop repair industry and the level of work has dropped of a cliff over the last 2-3 years. There are bodyshops closing ,redundancies ,short weeks etc. Even the insurance companies themselves are shedding staff/engineers .I worry about my job every week through lack of work and yet the premiums keep on going up !!! Apparently its the amount of personel injurys causing the problem..ie whiplash claims.
